Job Description

Overview Join our private, family oriented, loyal clientele-based clinic! We are looking for a Veterinary Technician to become a vital part of our team; providing excellent customer service and exceptional animal care! In this energetic role, you'll support veterinarians in diagnosing, treating, and caring for a wide variety of animals, ensuring their health and well-being. Your expertise will help create a compassionate environment where pets and their owners feel confident and cared for. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and monitoring anesthesia. Perform animal restraint and handling using proper techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostics to support accurate diagnoses. Maintain detailed records of patient treatments, medications, and procedures in accordance with clinic protocols. Support pet care activities including grooming, feeding, administering medication, and monitoring recovery. Handle animal catheterization, X-ray imaging, and other technical procedures with precision and aseptic technique. Manage kennel duties including cleaning, feeding, and monitoring animals' health status to ensure optimal animal husbandry practices. Requirements Prior kennel experience or animal handling experience: must demonstrate confidence in dog handling and pet care. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary critical care practices. Laboratory experience including sample collection and analysis, phlebotomy. Strong understanding of animal restraint techniques and aseptic procedures to prevent infection. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and pet owners about pet health needs. Certification or experience in veterinary technician duties is advantageous; however, motivated individuals with relevant animal care backgrounds are encouraged to apply. $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
