$21.00 - $25.00 / hour Description Are you an experienced Veterinary Technician or highly skilled Veterinary Assistant who thrives in high-acuity medicine, critical patients, and complex case management ? Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Knoxville is seeking a Daytime ICU / Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our collaborative, specialty-focused hospital. This role is ideal for professionals who want to practice advanced medicine, refine ICU and emergency skills, and work alongside ER doctors and specialists—while maintaining a daytime schedule . This is not a general practice role . We are looking for technicians who are confident, clinically driven, and ready to contribute to life-saving care in a fast-paced emergency and specialty environment. True ICU- and ER-level medicine in a Specialty & Emergency hospital High case complexity with ER, Internal Medicine, and Specialty collaboration Daytime schedules with 4x10s or 3x12s for better work-life balance Strong emphasis on autonomy, critical thinking, and advanced technical skills Supportive, team-driven culture that values technician expertise and voice Daytime shifts only Full-time schedules: 4 ten-hour shifts or 3 twelve-hour shifts Weekday availability required Rotating weekend and holiday support as part of a shared team model 🩺 Key Responsibilities - ICU & Emergency Medicine Communicate patient updates, treatment plans, and next steps with clarity and compassion Support client education during emotionally complex or high-stress cases Ensure seamless continuity of care between departments and shifts Work closely with ER clinicians, ICU teams, and specialty services Participate in case rounds and interdisciplinary communication Maintain accurate, thorough medical records and treatment logs Ensure ICU, treatment, and clinical areas remain clean, stocked, and hospital-ready ✅
What We're Looking For:
Required Experience & Qualifications 2-3+ years of veterinary hospital experience required Emergency, ICU, or Specialty experience strongly preferred Advanced technical proficiency in anesthesia, emergency procedures, and critical patient monitoring Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure Comfortable managing complex cases in a fast-paced environment Physically able to lift, restrain, and stand for extended periods A patient-first mindset and commitment to gold-standard medicine Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, CVT) Prior experience in Emergency, ICU, or Specialty Medicine Familiarity with critical care protocols and specialty diagnostics 🚀 Growth & Learning Opportunities with

$21.00-$25.00/hr based on experience $26+/hr negotiable for actively Licensed Veterinary Technicians with relevant ER/Specialty experience
Overnight Shift Differential:
+$2/hr beginning at midnight Paid Time Off (PTO) + dedicated CE PTO Paid Continuing Education (conferences, workshops, online learning)
