Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care to our animal patients while assisting veterinarians in various procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal welfare and possess the necessary skills to ensure the health and comfort of pets in our care. Experience as a technician and/or veterinary assistant (3+ years) required Texas Licensed a plus but by no means required Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures. Perform routine laboratory tests and analyze samples. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures. Provide proper animal handling and restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas. Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures based on veterinarian guidance. Skills The successful candidate should possess the following skills: Ability to proficiently perform technical duties such as (but not limited to) drawing blood, placing IV catheters, and giving medications by injection. Proficient in animal handling techniques to ensure safe interactions with various species. Experience in pet care, including feeding, bathing, and exercising animals. Understanding of veterinary terminology for effective communication within the team. Proficient computer and phone skills. Knowledge of commonly prescribed medications.
