9:00 AM•7:00 PM Neighborhood Veterinary Centers•Houston Heights is looking for a strong Veterinary Technician to join our team. This is a support role for someone who has a solid veterinary technician background, confidence in their skills, and the ability to step into a busy full-service small animal clinic ready to support patients, clients, doctors, and teammates well. We are looking for someone who is dependable, steady, team-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced day with professionalism, urgency, and a positive spirit. The right person will bring strong technical ability, clear communication, good judgment, and a willingness to jump in wherever the team needs support. At NVC, skill matters, but mindset matters too. What You'll Do As a Veterinary Technician, you will help support daily hospital flow, patient care, client communication, diagnostics, treatments, surgery, and overall team success.
Responsibilities may include:
Supporting doctors and team members during appointments, treatments, and procedures Safe handling and restraint of dogs and cats Administering vaccines and medications as directed Drawing blood and running bloodwork Assisting with diagnostics and radiographs Supporting surgery and anesthesia Monitoring patients before, during, and after procedures Providing general patient care and treatment support Communicating clearly and professionally with clients Maintaining accurate medical records Helping keep the hospital clean, organized, and ready for the day Supporting clinic flow during busy moments Working well as part of a team under pressure What We're Looking For The right candidate will have: Veterinary Technician license/certification preferred, or at least 2 years of experience in a full-service veterinary clinic Strong small animal handling experience with dogs and cats Surgical support experience Anesthesia monitoring experience Ability to draw blood and run diagnostics Comfort administering vaccines and medications Experience with radiographs Strong medical record-keeping habits Clear client communication skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting Team-first mindset Positive attitude and professional maturity Ability to lift, bend, and safely handle animals up to 40 lbs.
