Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. Your role will involve providing exceptional customer service, caring for cats and dogs, assisting in surgical procedures, and helping to ensure appointments run smoothly. Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including but not limited to, examinations, surgeries, and dental cleanings. Perform laboratory tests, such as bloodwork, urinalysis, and fecal examinations, and accurately record results. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians. Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, surgical suites, and equipment. Educate pet owners on proper care, medication administration, and preventative health measures. Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately during examinations and procedures. Monitor patients under anesthesia and during recovery, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Assist with diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays and ultrasound. Collaborate with veterinary team members to provide comprehensive care and support for patients and their owners. Participate in continuing education opportunities to expand knowledge and skills in veterinary medicine.
Qualifications:
CVA or LVT Desired but not required for exceptional candidates. Strong passion for animal welfare and dedication to providing excellent patient care. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills with clients, team members, and veterinarians. Proficiency in using veterinary medical equipment and technology. Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and protocols. Previous experience in a veterinary clinic preferred.
Benefits:
Competitive pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour Full-time position with expected 40 hours per week. Employee discount on veterinary services. Paid time off. 401(k) Uniform allowance.
