Small Animal Veterinary Technician Experience Level:
Entry-Level or Previous Experience ( Pay Based on Experience) About Our Clinic We are a fast-paced, supportive Mixed practice animal veterinary clinic with a strong focus on teamwork, growth, and positive culture .
Our philosophy is simple:
everyone helps everyone . Most of our staff joined us with zero experience and were trained from the ground up. We currently have 6 doctors and are adding additional doctors this summer We are proud partners with Texas Tech University and Texas A&M Veterinary School , and we actively support employees interested in pursuing veterinary school. Each year, we help at least five students gain acceptance into veterinary programs by providing hands-on experience, mentorship, and mock veterinary school interviews to ensure they are fully prepared. Outside of work, our team enjoys spending time together—whether it's Mexican food after shifts, Thursday karaoke nights, or community events on weekends . We truly love what we do and who we work with, and we're excited to welcome someone new to our team. Who We're Looking For We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and positive individual who: Has a strong work ethic and willingness to learn Brings a positive attitude and team-first mindset Enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment Is interested in hands-on veterinary experience (especially those considering vet school) No prior veterinary experience is required—we will train the right person. Responsibilities (Training Provided) Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures Safely handle and restrain small animals Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, organized clinic Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures Administer medications and treatments under supervision Collect and prepare laboratory samples Assist with radiographs, diagnostics, and basic lab work Educate clients on post-treatment and basic animal care instructions Accurately maintain medical records Support teammates wherever needed— we help each other On-Call Requirement All technicians participate in an on-call rotation : One full week from Friday at 5:00 PM to the following Friday at 8:00 AM Rotation occurs approximately every 6-12 weeks , depending on staffing You must be available for after-hours emergency appointments , which may occur at any time (6:00 PM, 3:00 AM, etc.) during your on-call week, as requested by the doctor Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Reliable transportation Ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs Comfortable working with animals of varying temperaments Strong communication and teamwork skills Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as scheduled Why Join Us?
