The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess a strong knowledge of veterinary practices and procedures. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians in medical, surgical, and dental procedures
- Perform laboratory tests on blood, urine, and feces
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments prescribed by the veterinarian
- Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients
- Educate clients on pet care and welfare
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Prepare animals for surgery and monitor anesthesia
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures Requirements
- Proficiency in veterinary critical care and terminology
- At least 2 years of job experience
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques for surgical preparation
- Experience in pet grooming and general pet care
- Understanding of animal anatomy and physiology
- Familiarity with equine care is a plus
- Ability to work in a kennel environment and assist with animal husbandry
- Knowledge of dental terminology for dental procedures
- Pay dependent on experience
