Job Description

Veterinary Technician / Licensed Veterinary Technician (Full-Time) All Creatures Great & Small Veterinary Hospital -
San Antonio, TX Pay:
$16.50-$19.00/hr. (based on verified experience)
Experience Level:
3-5 years preferred Why Join Us? We are a nimble, locally-owned, fast-growing practice in north-central San Antonio. Because we are a tight-knit independent clinic, we cannot match corporate-chain budgets or top-of-market hourly wages. However, what we lack in corporate cash, we make up for in unparalleled clinical variety and professional freedom. If you are a technician with 3-5 years of experience who is bored of standard dog-and-cat vaccine clinics, this is your playground. You will get hands-on experience with an exciting mix of small mammals, birds, and reptiles that most clinic staff only read about in textbooks. What You'll Do As a core member of our small, dedicated team, you will utilize the full extent of your skills.
Responsibilities include:
Exotic & Small Animal Care:
Safely handle and restrain dogs, cats, small mammals, birds, and reptiles.
Surgery & Diagnostics:
Assist in surgery, monitor anesthesia, place IV catheters, and draw blood.
Lab & Imagery:
Run in-house laboratory tests and assist with radiology.
Client Education:
Take thorough patient histories and communicate treatment plans with warmth.
All-Hands Teamwork:
Support front-desk operations (answering phones, checking clients out) and help with occasional kennel duties.
Scheduling & Availability :
We keep our business nimble to support patient flow, meaning flexibility is essential
Shift Length:
Typically 8-10 hour shifts (with up to 3 days off in a week depending on patient flow).
Saturdays & Holidays:
We operate roughly two Saturdays a month (resulting in a 6-day workweek those weeks).
Boarding Coverage:
Support staff share rotating kennel shifts for our year-round client boarding during weekends and holidays.
What We Are Looking For Experience:
3-5 years of veterinary technician experience (LVT is highly valued, but experienced non-licensed technicians are welcome).
Species Confidence:
Comfort and eagerness to handle diverse, non-traditional species.
Versatility:
A team-first attitude willing to jump from the exam room to the reception desk or kennel when the clinic needs it.
Reliability:
Strong client-communication skills, a fast-paced work ethic, and reliable transportation. Perks of the Role Escape the rigid, metric-driven corporate clinic environment. Build a highly unique, impressive resume with extensive exotic animal case exposure. Work alongside a supportive team where your voice is heard and your passion matters.
