Veterinary Technician - Full Time We are seeking to fill a full-time Veterinary Technician position for our fast-growing animal hospital. Position Overview The primary responsibility of a Veterinary Technician is assisting veterinarians in surgery and treatments, supporting client appointments, providing patient nursing care, performing diagnostics, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring OSHA and hospital standards are upheld. Our Ideal Candidate Brings a positive, accountable attitude , even in busy or stressful situations Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication Thrives in a team-first environment and willingly helps others Shows excellent time, task, and workflow management Presents professionally and respectfully with staff and clients Has a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality Values compassionate, high-quality patient and client care Adaptable, flexible, and able to grow in a fast-paced hospital Preferred Skills High school diploma or GED At least 18 years of age at the time of hire At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience Understanding and ability to properly, and safely, restrain animals Knowledgeable on veterinary medical terminology and medication Lift 50 lbs to waist height Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent communication & listening skills Self-motivated & team-oriented Vaccinate and medicate patients Admit and discharge patients Collect blood and other samples Knowledge of basic preventions and core vaccines. Able to educate clients about animal care. Job Responsibilities Administering medications, vaccines, and treatments Ability to place catheters on surgery and hospitalized patients Confidently monitor and help the DVM in surgery with patients Perform a dental cleaning on canines and felines under anesthesia Provide compassionate care to patients and clients Confidently restrain animals for examination or treatment Collecting and recording animal case histories Collecting samples to perform diagnostic tests and radiographs Compliance with DEA standards handling controlled and non controlled substances Compliance with OSHA standards in handling hazardous waste material Admitting and discharging patients on the veterinarian's orders Daily maintenance of facility (Cleaning Kennels, Laundry, Sweeping/Mopping) Who Succeeds on Our Team The team members who thrive here are those who: step in to support teammates without being asked communicate clearly and respectfully stay positive and solution-focused take pride in high-quality patient care remain flexible during busy or changing days genuinely care about clients, pets, and each other Must be able to stand/walk for most of the day and frequently may have to lift and/or move patients up to 50lbs (assistance with handling/lifting heavier)
