In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians in delivering comprehensive medical services, ensuring the well-being of a diverse range of animals. Your expertise will help create a compassionate, efficient, and positive environment where pets and their owners feel confident and cared for. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your technical skills, animal handling abilities, and veterinary knowledge to make a meaningful difference every day. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures by preparing equipment and monitoring patient status Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence across various species, including dogs, cats, and equines Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostics to support accurate diagnoses Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection and ensure safety for animals and staff Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians Capture high-quality X-ray images and interpret basic radiographs to aid in diagnosis Provide pet care services including grooming, feeding, pet grooming, and basic pet grooming advice Assist with animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring animal health status Support veterinary critical care efforts by monitoring vital signs and assisting in emergency situations Maintain detailed medical records with precise documentation of treatments, procedures, and observations Skills Proven veterinary technician experience with a strong foundation in veterinary terminology and animal physiology Extensive kennel experience coupled with animal husbandry expertise to ensure optimal care environments Proficiency in dental terminology and performing dental cleanings or procedures involving pet oral health Skilled in animal catheterization, laboratory techniques, X-ray operation, and aseptic procedures Excellent dog handling skills including dog training techniques for safe restraint and behavior management Knowledge of equine care practices for handling horses safely and effectively Strong animal anatomy knowledge to assist with diagnostics and treatment planning Ability to perform veterinary critical care tasks swiftly while maintaining composure under pressure Experience with pet care routines such as pet grooming and general animal handling techniques Familiarity with veterinary terminology used in clinical settings to communicate effectively within the team Embark on a rewarding career where your passion for animals meets your technical expertise!
