As a veterinary technician at our practice, you'll be at the forefront of patient care, working closely with our team to provide comprehensive support and assistance.
Your responsibilities will include:
Collecting blood (jugular and leg draws), stool, urine or tissue samples for testing Performing laboratory tests, such as urinalysis, heartworm tests, feline leukemia tests and blood counts Ability to place catheters Performing Radiographs with proper technique and positioning Sterilizing instruments and equipment Perform dental scaling and polishing Preparing animals for surgery Monitoring animals under anesthesia Asking probing questions about the reason for a client's visit Recording case history, weight, temperature and other details Safely restrain and stabilize animals during examination and treatment Trimming nails, expressing anal glands, removing sutures and performing other routine procedures Administering medications, vaccines, and treatments prescribed by a veterinarian Providing basic education on animal care, nutrition and medical conditions Teaching clients how to administer medicines at home Recommending products for optimal wellness, such as vitamins, supplements, dental cleaning, heartworm/flea control, geriatric care and dietary measures Preparing and labeling medications to be sent home with the patient Experience in any of the following is a plus : Maintain animal records and billing information using Cornerstone Management Software Clean and organize examination rooms Order, organize, label and restock supplies and pet foods Answer phones Schedule appointments Greet customers Prepare invoices Discharge patients Follow up with clients
Requirements:
To thrive in this role, you should have Experience in Veterinary experience industry. While licensure or certification is desired, it's not mandatory-we're more interested in your passion, dedication, and willingness to learn.
