Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a veterinary technician to join our newly opened veterinary clinic! We are a small but rapidly growing business. We practice high-quality medicine and offer a combination of urgent care/walk-in and GP care. Our ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills, is committed to a positive work culture, and has great technical skills. We pride ourselves in being a non-corporate, locally owned clinic started by two women veterinarians who have combined 20+ years of emergency experience. We have two CVTs currently and are happy to hire someone with on-the-job experience (no license needed). We are looking for someone to work 4x10 hour shifts. We are open Sun-Thurs 9am-7pm and will need someone willing to work Sunday shifts.
Duties Include:
  • Taking and running laboratory samples
  • Administering medications and treatments to patients
  • Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
  • Taking x-rays of patients
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Fill medications
  • Monitoring of sedated and anesthetized patients
  • Provide post-operative care and monitoring
  • Client communication and education including reviewing discharges and medications with clients
  • Maintaining a clean, professional clinic environment including cleaning, stocking, organizing when necessary
  • Assisting the veterinarian and practice manager with tasks as necessary
  • Dental prophylaxis and obtaining dental radiographs Skills required:
  • Great communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, running laboratory samples, and correct x-ray positioning and acquisition
  • Experience in emergency or urgent care setting is a plus
