Position Overview We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and team-focused Veterinary Technician to join our growing clinic. As an essential part of our medical team, you will work alongside our veterinarians, and other team members, to deliver exceptional, and progressive veterinary care. Your role will include hands-on patient care, client education, surgical assistance, and opportunities to grow and refine your technical skills in a supportive, collaborative environment. We are particular interested in technicians who can support our surgical services, including patient preparation, anesthetic monitoring, recovery, and post-operative care. We are looking for a veterinary professional who will assist in procedures such as a dentals, spays, neuters, soft tissue surgeries, mass removals, wound care and more. This is a full-time, non-exempt position offering four 10-hour shifts per week, with an additional Saturday shift once a month. If you are seeking part-time work, please let us know. Responsibilities Patient Care & Clinical Support:
Provide high quality nursing care to hospitalized and outpatient pets. Assist in restraint, sample collection, catheter placement, radiology, and diagnostics. Assist with patient appointments by writing up comprehensive histories, recording vitals, performing accurate invoicing, etc. Perform technician appointments such as injections, nail trims, lab work, anal gland expressions, and other routine care. Prepare patients for and assist during surgical and dental procedures. Monitor patients under anesthesia and during recovery, ensuring safety and comfort. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in ezyVet and all other clinic used softwares. Surgical & Dental Support Prepare surgical suite and maintain aseptic techniques. Assist in surgical procedures including spays, neuters, mass removals, soft tissue surgeries, wound care, etc. Perform dental prophylaxis, take full-mouth dental radiographs, and assist in extractions as directed by veterinarian. Monitor anesthesia and post-operative recovery closely, ensuring proper pain management and communication with all other team members. Client Communication & Education Communicate clearly and compassionately with per owners regarding patient status, treatment plans, and discharge instructions. Educate clients on general wellness, medications, nutrition, and post-operative care. Assist in the coordination of follow-up care, rechecks, and speciality referrals. Technology & Clinic Operations Maintain inventory, stock treatment areas, and ensure equipment is cleaned and functioning. Utilize practice software for medical charting, invoicing, and appointment coordination. Participate in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment in accordance with OSHA, AAHA, and clinic's standards. Qualifications •Required• 2+ years of experience as a veterinary technician in a clinical setting. Proficiency in routine veterinary procedures and handling of dogs and cats. Experience monitoring anesthesia and assisting with surgery. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail, organization, and initiative. Team-oriented with a passion for learning and growing. Strongly Preferred Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), eligible for certification. Experience with ezyVet or similar veterinary practice software. Experience with dental radiography and surgical prep protocols.
