Job Description

Description Advanced Veterinary Care is seeking a Training Coordinator to join our growing team! The Training Coordinator at Advanced Veterinary Care plays a vital role in fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. This position is dedicated to enhancing the skills and competencies of our veterinary staff through comprehensive training programs tailored to meet the dynamic needs of our clinic and the diverse roles within it. By conducting needs assessments, developing effective training materials, and facilitating engaging training sessions, the Training Coordinator ensures that our team is equipped to provide the highest standard of care to our patients. In addition to coordinating training efforts, the Training Coordinator will delegate specific training tasks to experienced staff members, empowering them to share their knowledge and skills while broadening training coverage. This collaborative approach not only enhances staff engagement but also fosters a supportive learning environment. Through ongoing evaluation and feedback mechanisms, the Training Coordinator will continuously refine training programs to ensure they remain effective and aligned with industry best practices. The Training Coordinator is committed to promoting professional growth, improving team performance, and ensuring that Advanced Veterinary Care remains a leader in veterinary care.
Training assessment/monitoring:
Conduct regular assessments to identify training needs based on clinic goals and staff feedback. This will be done quarterly and accompanied by a self-review questionnaire to recap past goals, progression of goals and accomplishments. Collaborate with department heads and leadership to ensure that the level list stays current and up to date and in alignment with AVC core values. New hires will have a 2-week period of paired training and then reassessed at 60-90 days to determine where additional training is needed. Current skill level will also be determined at that time Monitor staff performance post-training to determine if skills are being effectively applied. Bi-weekly meeting with leadership to provide updates on staff and where additional help or training is indicated Utilizing Diverse Training Methods-Incorporate a mix of learning methods (in-person, online, hands-on): Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in veterinary training Invite external or in house specialty when necessary for specialized training topics. This would also include hosting CE for the referring vet professionals in the area. Facilitate training sessions, and hands-on demonstrations, supplemented by delegated trainers as needed. Incorporating delegation into the training coordinator role not only enhances training coverage but also empowers staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning. The training coordinator is expected to be on the treatment floor rotating through each department throughout the shift. Frequent daily check-in on daily goals or skills is also expected. Office hours will need to be scheduled and displayed on the schedule. All other hours will be on the floor actively teaching and training.
Program Review:
Regularly review and update training materials based on new veterinary practices, technologies, and staff feedback. Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in veterinary training.
Professional Development:
Encourage ongoing education and certification for staff through workshops, conferences, and online courses. Support staff in setting personal development goals and provide resources to achieve them. In addition to technical skills, emotional intelligence will also be a big focus for professional development. Foster open communication with staff regarding training opportunities and career development.
Documentation and Record-Keeping Training Records Management:
Maintain comprehensive records of all training sessions, participant attendance, and assessments. Ensure that training records are up to date and accessible for compliance and review purposes. Prepare regular reports for management on training outcomes, staff competencies, and areas for improvement.
Requirements:
Flexible schedule required, with a primary focus on swing shifts to support both day and overnight teams Ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying training gaps Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess issues and develop effective training solutions Experience creating and implementing training programs Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively train and mentor staff Success in this role will be measured through KPIs established by leadership, which may evolve over time, as well as staff feedback and performance outcomes
Compensation:
