Job Description Credentialed Veterinary Technicians Provider (CVTPs) will be a unique role. CVTPs will work under direct veterinary supervision to independently manage patient caseloads. A typical CVTP would be responsible for preventive care appointments, overseeing diagnostic and therapeutic plans as prescribed by the veterinarian, follow-up care and client communication. This position allows you to utilize your license to its fullest potential. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, critical thinker who thrives in a fast-paced setting, remains calm under pressure, and is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of patient care. We are looking specifically for a part-time Veterinary Technician who is able to work Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with potential of moving to a full-time schedule in the future. This position may be eligible for production-based compensation in addition to base pay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advocate for comprehensive preventive care
- Comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations
- Laboratory diagnostics, including sample collection and processing
- Venipuncture and IV catheter placement for fluid and medication administration
- IV fluid therapy and patient monitoring
- Urinary catheter placements
- P harmacy responsibilities , including medication preparation and dosage calculations
- Compassionate, attentive care for hospitalized patients
- Safe and effective animal handling and restraint
- Administration of IM, IV, and SQ injections
- Digital radiography for diagnostic imaging
- Nursing care and hospitalization treatments
- Clear, professional communication with clients, including educating them abouttreatments, procedures, and at-home care
- Provide additional support by being advocates for pet wellness, educates clients, and helps maintain a safe and efficient hospital environment
Working Conditions:
Must be comfortable handling/restraining small animal patients Requires physical activity (lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, kneeling, etc.). Availability to work a flexible schedule, up to 40 hours per week, as well as evening and weekend shifts as needed to support hospital operations.Qualifications:
License:
Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT).Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an AVMA-accredited vet tech program, or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years old One year of related technical and client communication experience requiredPay:
