In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care to animals while assisting veterinarians in various medical procedures. Your expertise in animal handling and husbandry will ensure that our patients receive the best possible treatment in a supportive environment. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of animals. Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, to aid in diagnosis. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian. Monitor animals' health and behavior before, during, and after procedures. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Provide education to pet owners on animal care, nutrition, and training. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas. Utilize animal restraint techniques safely during examinations or treatments. Assist with X-ray procedures as needed. Skills Proficient in veterinary technician duties with a strong understanding of animal husbandry practices. Experience in animal handling and restraint techniques to ensure safety for both staff and animals. Knowledge of kennel operations and maintenance to provide a clean environment for pets. Familiarity with X-ray equipment and procedures is a plus. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with pet owners and team members. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine love for animals of all types. Experience in pet grooming is advantageous but not required.
