Job Description

Certified Veterinary Technician Location:
Deforest, WI Job Type:
Full Time Pay:
$23.50-$28.50/hr $2,000 bonus once you reach the end of the probationary period (90 days). Contingent on remaining in the position for at least one year.
About Us:
Deforest Veterinary Clinic is a small animal practice dedicated to providing excellent medical care and compassionate service. We are looking to add a hard-working and motivated Certified Veterinary Technician to our team. We have a full in-house diagnostic laboratory, digital radiology, and digital dental radiology. Our Certified Veterinary Technician are encouraged to use their technical skills; and have a wide range of responsibilities - including, but not limited to: Assisting veterinarians with exams, surgeries, treatments Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, fecal, cytology) Perform and assist with radiographs. Surgical preparation, monitoring and recovery Performing dental radiographs, scaling and polishing Administering medications, vaccinations and treatments Communicating with and educating clients
Certified Veterinary Technician Skills and Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to stand/bend/kneel for extended periods Comfort working with cats and dogs of various sizes Technical skills in preparing and monitoring anesthesia, radiology and laboratory work Excellent communication and client service abilities Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment Compassion, empathy and professionalism
Schedule:
4 day work week. Half day Saturday rotations, 1 Saturday shift every 2-3 months. Mon/Wed 8am-6pm, Tue/Thr/Fri 8am-5pm, Sat 8am-12pm We are ideally looking for a candidate available for a Tuesday-Friday work week, but there is some flexibility in this.
