Job Description

Job Summary Hudson Pet Hospital our goal has always been to assemble a veterinary health care team committed to providing exceptional care for our patients and to create a positive experience for our clients. We are a family-owned clinic (for over 15 years) located in Hudson, WI, with a focus on small animals. We are seeking a full-time (preferred) or part-time Veterinary Technician (certification not required) to join our practice. Our ideal candidate would have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task. Able to work independently and in a team environment as well as venipuncture proficiency is a must. Prior veterinary technician experience is required, we are not looking for veterinary assistants at this time. Clinic hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 8am-5pm, and Tuesday 8am-6pm Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgeries by preparing instruments and equipment. Perform IV catheter placement, dental prophy, anesthesia monitoring, surgical site preparation. Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Monitor animal patients' vital signs and overall health during procedures. Provide animal restraint during examinations and treatments to ensure safety. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and health maintenance. Skills Strong knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology. Proficient in animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during examinations. Experience in dog handling with a focus on behavior management. Familiarity with aseptic techniques to maintain sterile environments during procedures. Previous experience as a veterinary technician is preferred but not required. Ability to perform laboratory tasks accurately and efficiently. Ability to induce, intubate, and maintain anesthesia is preferred.
