HVAC Journeyman

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Journeyman to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and related mechanical systems across various commercial and residential properties. Your expertise will ensure optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and safety compliance. Responsibilities Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ammonia refrigeration systems. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and HVAC design documents to accurately execute projects. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to prevent breakdowns and extend system lifespan. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic instruments. Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems, including pipe fitting and leak repairs. Weld components as needed for system repairs or modifications following safety standards. Maintain detailed service records, work logs, and reports for all completed tasks and inspections. Requirements Proven experience as an HVAC Journeyman or service technician with a strong background in construction and property maintenance. Extensive knowledge of HVAC/R systems including refrigeration, air conditioning, boilers, and ammonia refrigeration. Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design documents accurately. Mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment repair, welding, plumbing, and electrical troubleshooting. Familiarity with field service operations and appliance repair techniques. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating drivers preferred. Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and other testing instruments used in HVAC troubleshooting. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience in maintenance of HVAC equipment and property systems. Certifications or training in HVAC/R technology are highly desirable; ongoing professional development encouraged.
