(HHSI) is seeking a qualified individual to work on a part-time basis, 3rd shift in the Emergency Shelter, this position will rotate weekends off. Humility Homes and Services, Inc.

Job Description:
The Shelter Monitor will assist guests by checking participants in, providing them hygiene supplies, basic referrals and support as they move towards permanent housing. Must have excellent communication skills, previous work experience with crisis management, mental health issues and substance abuse preferred. Must be capable of preserving the confidentiality of participants. Qualified candidates will have a solid work history, reliable transportation and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Shelter Supervision:
Greet shelter guests and volunteers with a warm, caring attitude. Answer main phone, transfer calls, and answer questions. Direct volunteers to appropriate location. Refer Participants to mainstream resources including food assistance, meal sites, clothing sites (The Corner Closet) and primary health care. Provide for Participants' basic needs by handing out hygiene items, clothing, and bedding. Complete daily shift log notes and daily shift checklist duties. Assist our Outreach Navigators and Resource Coordinators by identifying most vulnerable individuals and referring them to appropriate services. Conduct hourly perimeter checks of the shelter property. Enforce shelter guidelines and work with the Safety Officer, Shelter Operations Supervisor and Housing Services Supervisor on behavioral plans for specific participants. Complete After-Hours Intakes when necessary. Provides crisis intervention and advocacy for participants, as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Documentation:
Completes daily log notes and incident reports. Files them in the appropriate locations. Communicates via email or call to the Shelter Operations Supervisor when critical incidents occur.
Salary:
Based on qualifications. Travel expenses, and some benefits included.

The work environment for this position includes an accessible office environment with a high noise level; scattered-site housing with a variety of accessibility and environmental conditions; and an accessible shelter facility with moderate to occasionally loud noise levels. Environment includes donated food items, which may contain a variety of allergens. Position also regularly required to use janitorial supplies, such as disinfectants, laundry detergent, air fresheners, etc. Shelter, office, and scattered-site housing may occasionally house service and emotional support animals. Position is open until filled.
