Job Description
Southeastern Community College is seeking a part-time, hourly Certified Testing Center Proctor to support the administration of academic, placement, certification, and Pearson VUE examinations; schedule may include evenings or limited weekend hours based on testing demand. This position ensures a secure, professional, and student-centered testing environment while maintaining compliance with SCC policies and external testing vendor requirements. The successful candidate must pass the Pearson VUE certification process prior to beginning independent testing duties. This position pays $25 per hour and is anticipated to be scheduled for 15 - 18 hours per week. This position is not eligible for SCC benefits, except for retirement benefits after meeting the earnings threshold. Terms of employment are per bargaining agreement between SCC Board of Trustees and the employment contract and relevant policies of the Board of Trustees. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy and mission. Administer and proctor Pearson VUE and other authorized examinations in accordance with vendor and institutional policies. Verify candidate identification and eligibility prior to testing. Maintain test security and confidentiality at all times. Monitor testing sessions to ensure compliance with testing protocols. Provide excellent customer service to students and community members. Assist with scheduling, check-in procedures, and basic troubleshooting of testing software and equipment. Prepare testing materials and ensure testing environments meet required standards. Maintain accurate records and testing documentation. Support accommodations in coordination with Disability Services, as applicable. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Education High school diploma, or its equivalent, required. AA degree or AAS degree, preferred. Ability to pass Pearson VUE certification process prior to hire. Experience Minimum two years related experience preferred. Previous experience in a testing center, educational setting, or customer service role. Experience working with adult learners and diverse populations. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including telephone etiquette appropriate for a professional workplace.
