This person is responsible for managing the referral processing/scheduling for the clinic and infusion services, answering the phone, and completing the check in/check out process for the clinic. Services provided by the Scheduling Specialist II will include but not limited to completing clinic registration check-in/check-out, managing the whole process with incoming clinic referrals and scheduling, managing the whole process with incoming infusion clinical referrals and scheduling, and answering the phone and transferring calls to the appropriate staff members when applicable. The Scheduling Specialist II will provide care utilizing established principles and ethical standards as well as policies and procedures established by Deaconess.What you will do:
Provides exceptional customer service to all internal and external customers with strong communication Utilizes AIDET and other customer service processes to ensure quality services Answers phone with appropriate phone etiquette. Transfers phone calls to the appropriate staff when necessary Schedules appointments in a timely manner for the clinic and infusion services and documents appropriately in the EHR Communicates with the physician or advanced practice provider regarding any questions related to incoming clinic referrals Communicates with the infusion nurses and charge nurse regarding any questions related to incoming infusion referrals and/or infusion scheduling questions as a whole Follows-up with patients whenever they no show for the clinic Effectively and efficiently completes the registration check-in and check-out process for the clinic patients based on Deaconess' standards Follows all HIPAA requirements Complies with all Departmental and Hospital Policy & Procedures Trains and/or coordinates training with the Nurse Manager for new hires for the Scheduling Specialist position Participates in identifying and communicating opportunities for improvement. Takes part in providing resolution ideas Performs other related duties as assignedEducation Qualifications:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)Required Experience Qualifications:
Minimum of one year relevant experience in a clerical, customer service, registration, call center role in healthcare Preferred Minimum of one year relevant experience working in an electronic health recordPreferred Skills and Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Ability to critical think to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Ability to define, resolve and implement effective solutionsCompensation:
$17.34- $26.
Incentives:
Eligible for evening/night, weekend shift incentive based on company policies and applicable job codes. Additional details will be provided during the interview process.Bonus:
