We are authorized by the Shasta County Office of Education and located in Anderson, CA. Our school serves students who reside in Shasta County and its contiguous counties. Students are provided their standards-aligned education through independent study, resource center classes, concurrent enrollment at the colleges, or any combination that is best for the student. The school offers professional development and support to teachers who are new or experienced in the non-classroom-based program. Northern Summit Academy-Shasta (NSA) is searching for a CA certificated Education Specialist teacher who is qualified to manage an independent study roster of students and perform case manager duties such as writing annual and triennial IEPs, Progress Reports, maintaining Service Tracker, attending meetings, assessing students, and collaborating with other staff members. The applicant must be comfortable working in SEIS. The applicant must hold a CA Clear Education Specialist Credential and can hold other credentials. It is highly desirable, although not required, that the applicant has working knowledge of the School Pathways Student Information System. Applicants must be comfortable working in software programs, using technology, and learning new skills. Applicants may be required to deliver live distance learning classes, support and meetings.
