Job Description

We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we're all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves? The Vehicle Cybersecurity Manager leads a team of engineers responsible for securing Ford vehicle programs through cybersecurity requirements development, compliance reviews, supplier deliverable evaluation, and risk management support. This role partners closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure security-by-design is embedded throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept through launch. The Manager is responsible for prioritizing team workload, guiding technical execution, reviewing deliverables, and escalating significant risks to management and governance forums as needed. This role also helps drive consistency in cybersecurity processes across vehicle programs and supports reuse of approved security work products within the Cybersecurity Management System.
  • What you'll do...
  • + Lead a team of vehicle cybersecurity engineers responsible for designing cybersecurity controls, testing, and risk management from end to end on embedded vehicle devices.
+ Oversee assessments, compliance reviews, and technical evaluations of features, functions, platforms, and modules in accordance with Ford cybersecurity engineering processes and relevant global requirements, standards, and regulations such as ISO 21434 and R155. + Ensure cybersecurity requirements are identified, engineered into product designs, and tracked through the development lifecycle from ideation through testing and release. + Review team assessments and supplier deliverables for completeness, technical accuracy, and conformance to established cybersecurity requirements. + Partner with content owners, chief engineers, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders to support security-by-design decision-making and timely issue resolution. + Guide the team in performing threat analysis, risk assessment, security audits, and vehicle ecosystem assessments. + Support the development and reuse of cybersecurity work products across vehicle programs to improve efficiency and consistency. + Prepare and present risk reviews to management, governance boards, and other leadership forums for issues that cannot be fully mitigated through technical controls. + Coach and develop team members, supporting technical growth, execution quality, and professional development.
  • You'll have...
  • + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field, OR equivalent education and experience.
+ 5+ years of experience in embedded, IoT, or product systems cybersecurity. + Experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating technical engineers or project work. + Functional knowledge of cryptographic controls and their application. + Experience with security system engineering, development, and testing. + Experience developing and maintaining engineering documentation, including requirements, specifications, and test plans. + Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills. + Ability to balance technical depth with team leadership and cross-functional coordination.
  • Even better, you may have...
  • + Master's degree in Computer Science or related.
+ Certifications such as: CISSP, CASE or related. You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply! As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder…or all of the above?
