Role Overview :
The Airfield Security Operations Sergeant reports to and takes direction from the Superintendent of Security Forces (ICSF) or as designated locally. As a member of this force the incumbent enforces laws and regulations, maintains law and order, preserves the peace, and protects the lives of over 250 full-time employees, over 650 part-time employees, and individuals visiting an Air National Guard (ANG) Base; and to protect Federal and State property from sabotage, espionage, domestic or international terrorist attack, theft, fire, and accidental or willful damage and destruction. The Airfield Security Operations Sergeant at CAJMTC Plans and implements the Force Protection Vetting Program. The Airfield Security Operations Sergeant will coordinate with INNG State Provost Marshal Office and Secfor to update training plans to meet new requirements and from best practices learned. Airfield Security Operations Sergeant does ensure that force Security Officers maintain their proficiency and are trained in accordance with applicable regulations, and published training schedules. He/she may periodically conduct training/briefings to Force Security Officers and installation personnel. This position is 2nd shift, 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm.
Salary Statement :
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $37,648.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience. A Day in the
Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows: Control entry to and exit from the location via designated access of entry or exit control points. Conduct vehicle inspections in support of the installation security program. Patrol and protect location perimeters, mission essential or vulnerable areas, and/or equipment storage areas to detect or deter unauthorized entry. Monitor Electronic Security Systems and devices when applicable and initiate appropriate response forces. Provide administrative support to the Security Force Operations and other services necessary to secure resources and personnel. Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees to ensure role responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood while providing opportunities to continue professional development. Set expectations, measure progress, provide ongoing feedback, and evaluate the performance of employees. Ensure work adheres to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures. Workday attendance at assigned worksite(s) is an essential function of this position. Success:
You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment: Must have a High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE). Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. Must have four (4) years of military or civilian law enforcement/security experience in a supervisory role; substitution: accredited college training may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Must never have been convicted by the civilian or military court except for minor traffic violations or similar infractions. Working knowledge of administrative duties and responsibilities. The ability to operate a computer and experience with standard Windows operating system and software. Must obtain and retain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) as a condition of employment. Take and pass the Physical Ability Test (PAT) to demonstrate physical ability to perform the essential functions. Undergo initial and yearly medical evaluations assessing the ability to take the PAT and perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Must possess and maintain a valid Indiana Driver's License and may be required to obtain and maintain a military driver's license. Ability to work shifts, overtime, and weekends as required. Wear duty and/or personal protective equipment under adverse environmental conditions. Ability to delegate work set clear direction, and manage workflow. Ability to effectively give feedback, provide guidance or corrective action, coach, and develop employee skillsets. Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
