Industrial Maintenance Instructor Location:
Elmira, MI | Onsite Our client is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Instructor to join their Maintenance team in Elmira, Michigan. Our client is looking for someone who can combine technical maintenance expertise with engaging instruction to help train mechanics, apprentices, and maintenance personnel across the organization. You'll play an important role in strengthening workforce capabilities while supporting the company's commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities include:
Design, develop, and deliver maintenance training programs for employees and apprentices Conduct classroom instruction and hands-on technical training sessions Develop training materials, course outlines, and instructional content Train maintenance personnel on new equipment, tools, technologies, and procedures Provide refresher training and safety instruction, including confined space and lift operations Support apprenticeship and junior mechanic development programs Assess employee skill levels and identify training needs Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness and employee progress Maintain training records, certifications, and participation documentation Coordinate with third-party training providers as needed Assist with technical specifications for new equipment implementation Collaborate with inventory and stores teams to ensure training materials and parts availability Prepare reports and correspondence related to training activities Travel as needed for outside training and professional development Provide training support on off shifts and weekends when required Promote company culture, safety standards, and organizational policies
Requirements and Qualifications:
Previous industrial maintenance experience required 5+ years of experience in training, teaching, coaching, or instructional mentoring required Experience building lesson plans, course outlines, and structured training sessions; Strong adult-learning and instructional presentation skills Ability to lead both classroom and hands-on training sessions Strong communication and public speaking skills Comfortable working within industrial/manufacturing plant/foundry environments Administrative capability to track participation, reports, certification, etc. Ability to work flexible hours, including off shifts and weekends when necessary About the
