The Maintenance Mechanic maintains, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical issues, conducting routine inspections, and ensuring efficient equipment operation to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. The role involves collaborating with the operations team to identify and resolve potential problems, enhancing equipment longevity and performance. The ideal candidate has a strong background in industrial maintenance, a solid understanding of mechanical systems, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly to urgent maintenance needs are essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

(responsibilities include, but are not limited to) Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment, including inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting components. Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical (24VDC, 480VAC), pneumatic, and hydraulic issues in machinery and equipment. Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments.

QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE 1-2

years of on-the-job work experience as a Maintenance Technician/Mechanic is preferred. Experience in troubleshooting mechanical equipment. HS Diploma or equivalent experience preferred. Experience with Megamation or Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS).

Maintain balance while moving between different levels. Regularly bend, stoop, crouch, and kneel to access equipment and perform repairs in confined spaces. Maintain these positions for prolonged periods during complex tasks. Push and pull heavy machinery, tools, and equipment as needed. Possess color vision for tasks like wiring or identifying color-coded parts. The Maintenance Mechanic may perform outdoor tasks, such as repairing exterior equipment, exposing them to weather conditions like rain, snow, heat, or cold. Work environment is susceptible to seasonal changes in temperature Exposure to dust and loud noise (hearing protection is provided) Exposure to heavy equipment, moving conveyor and heavy forklift traffic.
