Job Description

The LYCRA Company is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for our Waynesboro, VA manufacturing site . This position creates value by troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on equipment leading to increased uptime and reliability. Maintenance Mechanics are required to have a thorough understanding of safe work practices, and the troubleshooting and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. An Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is expected to: Work with pumps, gears, sprockets, pulleys, bearings, seals, piping, and chemicals Occasionally work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems Work closely with mechanical engineers and researchers Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures Participate in Benger activities such as safety meetings, safety audits, and other safety related programs Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment for improved reliability and uptime Support the team through respectful and collaborative behaviors Maintain highest level of housekeeping standards for the facility Perform repairs and other maintenance activities to specified specifications and standards per procedure Foster a supportive team environment Document work findings and job status Work independently as needed
Required Qualifications:
At least 3 years of industrial experience in a maintenance/millwright related full-time position OR at least 1 year of industrial experience in a maintenance/millwright related position with 2 years of training at a technical school or relevant military experience/training in a maintenance/millwright related full-time position Must be willing and able to work a normal day-based schedule (8hr day-based; 7:00 am - 3:30pm) Must be willing and able to work nights and weekends, if needed Must be familiar with OSHA Standards Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) Ability to wear personal protective equipment including being fit for a respirator (which requires being clean shaven to ensure respirator seal)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with steam systems and boilers Experience working with chemical piping systems At least 5 years of industrial experience in a maintenance/millwright related full-time position Experience working with

Must pass a physical abilities test The ability to: Sit (up to 1 hour), stand (up to 6 hours), and walk (up to 1 hour) Frequent balancing, twisting, climbing stairs, and reaching Occasional driving (automatic and/or manual), bending/stooping, squatting/crouching, kneeling, crawling, and climbing ladder Work on or with moving machinery Work both indoors and outdoor Occasionally lift up to 70 pounds Occasionally carry up to 100 pounds Occasionally push/pull up to 100 pounds Compensation/Benefits We offer a competitive salary, including variable pay and excellent benefits package.
