Job Description

About the Role As a Facilities Systems Technician, you will serve as a technical authority for pollution abatement and environmental control systems. You will play a critical role in optimizing process performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading maintenance initiatives to drive operational excellence. Responsibilities Act as the primary subject matter expert for Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and pollution abatement equipment, including scrubbers and gas control units. Design, install, and document complex control systems to improve process efficiency and reliability. Lead mechanical and electrical teams in the repair, renovation, and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure. Coordinate with project and engineering departments to manage system expansions and modifications. Develop and maintain essential technical documentation, including machine specifications, standard operating procedures, and safety protocols. Implement safety-by-design principles, such as FMEA, HAZOP, and LOTO, to ensure a secure work environment. Provide technical guidance and training to off-hour support personnel to ensure consistent first-level response capabilities. Manage vendor relationships and oversee external contractors to maintain high standards of system integrity. Qualifications Required Skills Associate degree in a technical discipline or a High School Diploma with 8+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting capabilities. Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints and technical drawings. Strong commitment to safety awareness and environmental regulatory compliance. Advanced PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Skills Direct experience with ABB DCS control systems and instrumentation. Proven track record in project management and team leadership. Experience in electrical and mechanical equipment repair within an industrial setting. Self-directed mindset with a high level of attention to detail.
