Infection Prevention Specialist - Hybrid - Full Time Days

• Essentia Health is seeking a medical professional to serve as Infection Prevention Specialist.

This employee works Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, 40 hours per week. Occasional weekends on call are required. This is a hybrid position that will allow you to work from home but also will require your presence in the facility. As such, you must reside within driving distance of an Essentia Health facility. This position supports the Essentia Health infection prevention program, with a focus on skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, home care, and hospice.

• Infection Prevention Specialist ($33.94-$50.91 based on experience):
• Works collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team to assure the safety of patients, personnel, visitors, and the community.

Responsibilities include compiling, analyzing, and disseminating infection prevention data, reviewing and recommending changes in practice when indicated, and providing education consistent with best practice standards and requirements of regulatory agencies, e.g., TJC, OSHA, and the goals and mission of Essentia.

• Infection Prevention Specialist II ($37.10-$55.65 based on experience):
• The Infection Prevention Specialist II works collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure the safety of patients, personnel, visitors, and the community.

Responsibilities include compiling, analyzing, and disseminating infection prevention data, reviewing and recommending changes in practice when indicated, and providing education consistent with best practice standard and requirements of regulatory agencies (e.g., TJC, OSHA) and the goals and mission of Essentia Health. Proficient in healthcare-associated infection surveillance, data entry, and data analysis. Implements and monitors the Infection Prevention program and practices.

CIC certification is required within 2 years of hire. +

2 years clinical experience in a patient care setting (prefer inpatient/hospital setting), medical lab, public health, infection prevention, or closely related field. +

IPS-II:
