Job Description Nexagen Networks is seeking a skilled Information Security Analyst to plan, implement, upgrade, and monitor security measures to protect computer networks and information systems. Assess system vulnerabilities, identify security risks, and develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies. Ensure appropriate security controls are in place to safeguard digital assets and critical infrastructure. Should respond to computer security incidents, including breaches and malware events, and support ongoing incident management efforts. They should participate in security event monitoring and correlation activities within a tiered Security Operations Center (SOC) environment. Should leverage CND analyst toolsets to detect, analyze, and respond to IT security incidents. Conduct research on emerging threats and document threat behaviors, including monitoring external CSIRTs and CERTs. Provide recommendations for improving threat detection and mitigation strategies. Communicate effectively through web, email, and phone to support and coordinate security incident response procedures. Perform routine reporting on security events, including trend analysis and long-term reporting. Apply hands-on experience with security and network technologies, including Unix/Windows operating systems and Cisco/Juniper routing and switching. Demonstrate strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and network services, along with the ability to perform packet analysis and detect anomalies. Maintain professional certification within a Cyber Network Defense (CND) discipline in accordance with DoDI 8570 requirements. Position Responsibilities Support the development, review, and maintenance of RMF authorization packages, including SSPs, SOPs, TTPs, and supporting artifacts within eMASS. Assist with ATO acquisition, renewal, and continuous monitoring activities, ensuring documentation and evidence meet DoD and agency Information Assurance requirements. Conduct periodic security control assessments, including STIG reviews, vulnerability scans, and compliance checks, and document results in POA&Ms. Monitor system security posture and cyber events, identifying vulnerabilities, correlating threats, and recommending risk-based mitigations aligned with IA policy. Ensure audit logs, monitoring data, and incident records are collected, reviewed, and retained in accordance with AU-family controls and IA standards. Maintain accurate, current, and accessible security documentation, ensuring alignment with RMF control evidence requirements and eMASS workflows. Assist with remediation and risk-reduction activities, tracking vulnerabilities, POA&M items, and corrective actions through closure. Track organization training requirements, coordinate compliance and report status in accordance with DoD and Army standards. Prepare and contribute to reports on system security safeguards, risk posture, and compliance status for the team lead, ISSM, and other stakeholders. Complete required cybersecurity, IA, and compliance training, and support tracking of contract-required annual training for the team. Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience OR AA degree with 7+ years of experience. Active DoD Secret security clearance is required. Security+ Certification is required.
