Join our team and discover why we are a top veteran employer and Certified Great Place to Work™ ASRC Federal System Solutions, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking an Information Systems Architect (ISA) to support our Prime program at Blossom Point Tracking Facility in Welcome, MD for the Naval Research Lab. The Information Systems Architect (ISA) designs, implements, and manages the organization's computer systems, networks, and software to align with business goals, ensuring security, scalability, and performance. The Blossom Point network is made up of Linux, Unix, Windows, Cisco and other proprietary systems that support BPTF's Satellite C2 mission and administrative activities. The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of computer systems, network engineering, system administration, operating systems, and security best practices. They will have an ability to understand business objectives and translate them into effective architectural designs. Must have strong critical thinking skills and ability to troubleshoot and fix complex system issues than design solutions to address them in the future. The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate technical plans and complex concepts to management, stakeholders, and technical teams. Must have the capacity to adapt quickly to changes in the IT landscape and integrate new solutions into existing systems.. Familiarity with
DISA STIGS, NIST
guidelines, DoD Accreditation and Common Criteria, and DISA recommended best practices is desirable. Some specific job duties would include:System Design & Planning:
Create comprehensive plans for complex hardware, software, and network systems, including their physical layout and integration.Technical Audits & Optimization:
Periodically assess existing systems to identify inefficiencies, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement, ensuring high-level understanding of current capabilities.Solution Development & Integration:
Develop and implement solutions that address business goals by integrating new technologies and ensuring seamless communication between different systems.Security & Risk Management:
Design systems with security controls in mind and manage potential security risks to protect data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.Collaboration & Leadership:
Work closely with other IT professionals, software engineers, project teams, and leadership to communicate the architectural vision, guide project development, and ensure successful implementation.Documentation & Maintenance:
Document processes for long-term maintenance and upgrade both hardware and software components to ensure system stability, interoperability, and scalability.Research & Innovation:
Stay updated on new technologies and trends to recommend innovative solutions that can enhance network performance and support business growthRequirements:
BS degree and 8 years of experience OR equivalent CompTIA Security + Certification Must have experience with Linux servers and Workstation administration Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills Additional Professional Certifications (e.g. Cisco, ISC) are desirable.Security Clearance:
Must have an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
