APIS Lead Position Summary:
Technician - Inspection and Packaging is responsible for inspecting, cleaning, and packaging ceramic components to ensure they meet strict quality standards and customer specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety and cleanliness standards, and the ability to follow technical instructions and quality procedures in a production environment.Key Responsibilities:
Inspection:
Examine ceramic parts for visual and dimensional defects such as cracks, chips, contamination, or surface inconsistencies. Verify product specifications using calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools. Document inspection results accurately and report nonconforming materials the APIS Lead.Processing and Handling:
Clean, handle, and process ceramic components using approved techniques and tools to prevent contamination or damage. Maintain proper identification and traceability of all parts during processing and packaging stages. Follow established procedures for rework, scrap, or special handling when defects are found.Packaging and Shipping Preparation:
Package ceramic components using approved materials and methods to ensure safe transport and storage. Label packages correctly with part numbers, batch information, and inspection data. Prepare completed orders for shipment or inventory in coordination with logistics and warehouse teams.Documentation and Compliance:
Complete inspection and packaging records, traveler sheets, and production logs accurately. Ensure compliance with company quality assurance standards (ISO, AS9100, or equivalent). Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives within the department.Safety and Housekeeping:
Follow all plant safety procedures and use appropriate PPE. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in manufacturing, ceramics processing, or precision inspection preferred. Ability to read and interpret, work instructions, and quality specifications. Strong manual dexterity and fine motor skills for handling delicate components. Basic computer and data entry skills for recording inspection and packaging information. Strong attention to detail and quality focus. Basic math skills. Ability to work efficiently and be self-sufficient.Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Manual handling of small, delicate parts. Ability to lift up to 25 -50 lbs. Work in cleanroom or controlled environment as required.Work Environment:
