Job Description

Inspector, 2nd Shift Schott North America United States, Massachusetts, Southbridge 15 Wells Street (Show on map) May 12, 2026 About us Our Business Unit Lighting and Imaging offers smart solutions for light delivery and image transmission in demanding environments
  • from medical devices, industrial, and safety applications to aviation and automotive. With manufacturing sites in Europe and North America, and supported by SCHOTT's global sales network, we are a leading supplier of high-quality fiber optic and LED components. Your Contribution
  • Performs visual and dimensional in-process and final inspection of all products in accordance with established processes and procedures.
  • Performs, with limited direct supervision, visual and dimensional in-process and final inspections of most products in accordance with SPIs and inspection and test methods.
  • Completes and submits accurate reporting of inspection results and data, including R D projects.
  • Uses the majority of types of measuring equipment, and references prints, to perform most types of inspection methods and procedures.
  • Operates some types of inspection machines within a particular product line.
  • Performs first article inspections.
  • Complies with all safety rules and regulations.
  • Trains less qualified inspectors and instructs manufacturing personnel in various inspection methods and procedures.
  • Maintains housekeeping practices per departmental 5S program.
  • Able to meet utilization targets and standard times.
  • Accurately enters Database/SAP transactions in the computer.
  • Maintains daily records, including labor sheets and routers.
  • Responsible for observing and following all Environmental, Health and Safety rules and procedures. Your Profile
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Knowledge of gauging and measuring equipment preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and results oriented.
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
  • Due to the nature of work performed at this facility, US Person status may be required.
Hourly Pay Ranges:
Level C ($19.00
  • 21.50); Level B ($22.00
  • 24.50); Level A ($25.00
