Job Description

This position supports the college's Institutional Research efforts. The position works with the Director of Institutional Research to collect and report on institutional data for planning, assessment, and decision making. The position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of institutional data and provides reporting or research as needed to support institutional objectives. Supports the college's institutional research activities including collecting and reporting information for use in decision-making, planning, and compliance reporting. Regularly collects, retrieves, and enters data using the college's data systems (ex. Colleague, Informer, TargetX, etc.) Works with departments across the college to fulfill requests for data and reporting. Works with the Director of IR to prepare reports and present findings to stakeholders utilizing various forms of communication. Maintains processes that ensure the integrity, reliability, validity, accuracy, transparency, and confidentiality of data. Queries and manipulates databases for various institutional reports. Completes and maintains state, federal, and other agency reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Collects and distributes data from a variety of sources including internal systems, state and federal agencies, other higher education institutions, and other external sources. Participates in the data governance process and works with the Director of IR to develop a departmental plan. Conducts quantitative and qualitative research projects as appropriate. Serves on appropriate campus-wide committees as requested. Supports the college's mission, vision, values, and customer service initiatives. Adheres to the organization's policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines. Ensures compliance with all Federal and State regulations guiding the function. Extracts and maintains data sets, including key performance indicators, to support college decision-making and strategic planning needs. Per the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), a federal consumer protection law, your job position entails functions that meet the definition of a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs have a duty to report any crime to the College's Clery Compliance Officer. This information may be disclosed to them directly, through third-party, or witnessed. As a CSA, you are required to complete annual training which is provided by the College. This training encompasses your role, responsibilities, and reporting obligations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Certification, Licensure:
Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree with relevant experience required.
Experience:
At least one year of data-related experience, or combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of this position preferred. Experience with higher education administrative/student information systems preferred. Experience using database software and/or statistical software preferred. Experience with any/all of the following preferred: Ellucian Colleague, Informer, TargetX, DocFinity Effectiveness in data manipulation with Microsoft Excel and/or similar programs Ability to acquire skill in SQL programming and Entrinsik Informer desired. Problem solving, acute attention to detail, and critical thinking skills. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to confer knowledge through written and oral reports. Ability to meet deadlines for internal and external requirements
