Instructional Assistant Early Childhood Special Ed

Summary:

The Instructional Assistant for Early Childhood Special Education will work closely with the classroom teacher to provide support to students with special needs in an inclusive classroom setting. This is a full-time position that will be located at Locust Grove Elementary.

Responsibilities:

Assist the teacher in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs Work with students one-on-one or in small groups to provide academic and behavioral support Help students with daily living tasks such as toileting, feeding, and dressing Assist with classroom management and behavior interventions Collaborate with the teacher and other school staff to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students Attend trainings and professional development opportunities as required by the school district

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent Experience working with young children with special needs preferred Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other school staff Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with physical tasks such as lifting and positioning students with special needs Must pass a background check
