Job Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE
To mentor/coach classroom teachers To improve Tier I instruction To monitor the progress of student intervention To provide instructional and intervention support to classroom teachers To coordinate and implement research-based programs that improve student performance on state standards and document student growthQUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
Valid Texas Teacher's Certificate Master's Degree Preferred Supervisor's/Administrator's Certification Preferred Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of Texas Essential Skills and Knowledge (TEKS) Knowledge of interpretation of test scores and various types of data Knowledge of effective teaching practices Knowledge of 21st Century Skills Knowledge of human development and learning theories Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skillsExperience:
Five to seven years of educational experienceMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Instructional Management 1.1 Conducts frequent teacher coaching sessions and provides assistance in implementation of Observation & Feedback protocol tools and documents. 1.2 Provides assistance to principals, teachers and staff concerning the teaching, learning, and intervention process. 1.3 Plans and facilitates campus PLC, data disaggregation meetings, and models research based instructional strategies. 1.4 Applies the finding of research, formative assessment and district data, including common assessments, TELPAS, STAAR, attendance, and discipline to improve the content and outcomes of the teaching/learning process. 1.5 Plans and implements instructional and intervention programs based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for all student groups to ensure students are successful on state assessment measures. 1.6 Works with teaching and intervention staff to implement the district curriculum documents including the scope and sequence and district resources. 1.7 Is effective in in collaborating and coordinating campus instructional and intervention materials to meet student learning needs, especially at-risk students. 1.8 Facilitates the appropriate use of district technology in the teaching/learning process including, but not limited to, Google suite, Microsoft tools, Chromebooks, tablets, smartboard, document camera, DMAC, Skyward, Eduphoria, all educational software, etc. 1.9 Encourages and supports the development and models the implementation of innovative instructional strategies to achieve identified needs of specific students. 2. School/Organizational Climate 2.1 Participates and provides a bridge for effective two-way communication with administrators (campus and district), teachers and staff. 2.2 Participates in the implementation of district/campus goals and objectives. 2.3 Demonstrates skill in conflict resolution with administrators (campus and district), teachers and students and serves as part of the MTSS team. 3. School/Organizational Improvement 3.1 Monitors school improvement, special program designations, and implementation of interventions to determine student growth and success. 3.2 Demonstrates appropriate use of student achievement/growth data in interpreting, reporting and acting on results. 3.3 Participates in district-level decision process and professional development, when requested, to establish and review the district's goals, objectives and instructional programs. 4. Personnel Management 4.1 Encourages improved overall performance and growth based on student/campus needs according to data. 4.2 Reviews coaching data to assist staff in identifying professional growth opportunities. 4.3 Uses the district's mission, curricular goals, program evaluation outcomes, and implements district approval process to secure consultants, specialists, and other community resources to provide effective staff development activities or support the teaching/learning process. 5. Administrative and Fiscal/Facilities Management 5.1 Implements the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local board policy. 5.2 Supervise campus tutoring and MTSS programs in collaboration with campus and district administration. 6. Student Management 6.1 Implements and monitors district student tracking systems to ensure student growth and student success using various data points. 6.2 Supports district and campus rules for conduct. 7. Professional Growth and Development 7.1 Utilizes information provided through formal and informal assessment data and a professional growth plan to improve professional skills and knowledge. 7.2 Participates in professional development programs/organizations, disseminates ideas and information to other professionals, and provides leadership in identifying trends, opportunities, and barriers. 8. School/Community Relations 8.1 Demonstrates a commitment to district initiatives including Observation & Feedback 8.2 Communicates approved district curriculum, instructional and intervention practices, accomplishments, goals, and new initiatives. 9.
