DEFINITION

Previous successful experience teaching or supervising children. Ability to communicate successfully with staff and students. Ability to follow directions and implement feedback.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To assist in the preparation of classroom and instructional materials. To provide ancillary instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher or special education teacher. Supports students and assists teachers as needed throughout the school day. Acts as a resource person concerning health/education issues for individual students. Performs lunch/recess supervision and other duties as needed. Assume responsibility for continuing own education and obtain consultation, supervision and peer review as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience working in an educational setting or with children.
