Public and Community Health Program Location Norman, OK Open Date May 13, 2026 Description The Public & Community Health Programs in the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a renewable, 9-month Instructor/Lecturer position. This position is designed primarily to support the delivery of our fully online Bachelor of Arts in Community Health degree. There will also be the possibility of teaching in-person sections as enrollment and program needs evolve. The courses this position may be asked to teach (depending on education, experience, and expertise) include Introduction to Public Health, Introduction to Epidemiology, Health Policy, Law & Ethics, Health Data & Statistics, Health Communication, Public Healthcare Systems, Determinants of Health, and Community Health Capstone. Successful candidates will have a commitment to excellence in teaching and engagement with students. The selected applicant will be appointed as renewable term faculty. The term of the initial appointment is five years, pending annual performance review. Faculty who meet the appropriate qualification requirements are eligible to be considered for renewal of their appointment. The regular teaching load is 4 courses per semester (4:4), or equivalent as determined by programmatic need and enrollment trends. The distribution of effort for this position will be 80% teaching and 20% service. Anticipated start in January 2027. Master's in Public Health (MPH) or closely related field from an accredited institution. Experience using a learning management system (e.g. Canvas) preferably in an instructional context. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, preferably with undergraduate student populations. Candidates should have a conferred masters or doctoral degree at the time of appointment.Preferred:
Doctorate in public health or closely related field from an accredited institution. Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching online courses, particularly in asynchronous environments. Evidence of applying student engagement strategies tailored to online learners. Professional experience in public health practice, community health, or related field. Experience teaching undergraduate students.Application Instructions Applicants should submit:
