Intern - Manufacturing

When Alfred Fain founded a small Rhode Island tire store in 1924, at the time no one could have predicted how Teknor Apex would become an international custom compounder sought out by companies around the world. As an intern, you will support the Plastics Plant in a variety of operational and project-based activities within the plant.

Project Overview:

Review and evaluate existing process instructions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with operational needs. Update and standardize process documentation to reflect current procedures and best practices. Develop and implement new process instructions for operations lacking formal documentation. Maintain housekeeping standards and actively support a 6S work environment. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to promote and maintain a safe workplace. Education and/or

Work Experience Requirements:

Current junior or senior pursuing a degree in Engineering. Ability to work onsite in Brownsville, Tennessee. Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week; Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365. Strong computer skills. Ability to analyze data. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to complete tasks thoroughly and on time.

Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards Must be able to wear required safety equipment.
