Job Description:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting warehouse operations, and ensuring parts and materials are properly received, stored, tracked, and distributed. This role works closely with maintenance, purchasing, and operations teams to support efficient workflow and safe warehouse practices. Key Responsibilities Navigate and utilize Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word for inventory tracking, reporting, and documentation. Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to look up assets, work orders, and inventory information. Operate forklifts safely and perform required equipment inspections prior to use. Safely move materials and items from skids using proper strapping and handling procedures. Participate in daily safety meetings and follow all company safety policies and procedures. Demonstrate proper knowledge and use of fire extinguishers and emergency response procedures. Identify and understand common industrial parts including motors, pumps, bearings, valves, gearboxes, and related components. Locate, pull, and organize parts for maintenance work orders. Properly document all inventory removed from stock and complete required part number forms accurately. Rotate inventory stock to maintain organization and proper stock usage. Perform cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracy using appropriate account codes and inventory systems. Properly store inventory items in warehouse locations and Connex storage units. Assist with receiving shipments, verifying parts, and placing new inventory into designated locations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Qualifications & Skills Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience using inventory systems or CMMS software preferred. Ability to safely operate forklifts and warehouse equipment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to accurately track inventory and complete documentation. Knowledge of industrial maintenance parts and warehouse operations preferred. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Positive attitude, adaptability, and ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as needed. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in a warehouse environment for extended periods. Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and tools.
