Job Description
Local Aerospace Manufacturing Company is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Stockroom Attendant to join our logistics and supply chain team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing materials movement, inventory control, and warehouse operations to support seamless production and distribution processes. This role requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with warehouse management systems, and the ability to handle heavy lifting. The Stockroom Attendant plays a vital part in ensuring timely order fulfillment, accurate stock management, and overall supply chain efficiency. Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and document incoming materials using warehouse management systems ERP platform. Prepare and stage materials for production or shipment, ensuring proper handling and storage. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely to move products within the warehouse or distribution center. Maintain accurate inventory levels through data collection, stock counting, and inventory control procedures. Coordinate with procurement, sourcing, and purchasing teams to ensure optimal stock levels and timely replenishment. Assist in process improvement initiatives by analyzing workflow data and identifying opportunities for efficiency gains. Support shipping & receiving activities, including order fulfillment, packing, labeling, and documentation. Conduct root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies or supply chain issues to prevent recurrence. Collaborate with logistics providers and 3PL partners to optimize transportation and delivery schedules. Participate in demand planning, category management, and procurement activities to support strategic sourcing efforts. Ensure compliance with safety standards during heavy lifting and materials handling operations. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse management, inventory control, or materials handling within a supply chain environment. Familiarity with warehouse ERP systems like AS400, Sage or SAP. Strong understanding of supply chain processes including procurement, shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and production planning. Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification preferred but not mandatory. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management and documentation accuracy. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments including purchasing, merchandising, logistics, and suppliers. Knowledge of demand planning, forecasting models, and supply chain analytics is a plus. This position offers an engaging opportunity to contribute to efficient supply chain operations.
