JAKs Place Mental Health Advocate

MENTAL HEALTH ADVOCATE

This 20 hour a week position as Mental Health Advocate serves as a support for program participants by encouraging mental health recovery and providing a sense of community and belonging at JAK's Place. Duties and responsibilities

• Facilitate support group sessions that provide an environment of recovery, wellness and hope using active listening and a Trauma Informed Care approach
• Provide culturally sensitive and age-appropriate support services to participants
• Provide resources and information to program participants and JAK's Place visitors who are in need of additional support and services
• Participate in professional development opportunities relating to Mental Health
• Assist in planning and participating in fundraising events
• Work hours are somewhat flexible but looking for 1 evening a week (Wednesday or Thursday until 6:30pm).

Remaining hours would be scheduled between 12-5pm M-Th and 11:30-3 on Fridays. Total of 20 hours a week. Benefits Paid Holidays Paid Personal Time Paid Vacation Paid Sick Time Lakeshore CAP is an EEO employer.
