Janitor

JOB OVERVIEW

The Janitor position is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the administrative building and/or the plant including but not limited to the breakrooms, bathrooms, and offices. You will perform janitorial tasks related to the office and plant worklists. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / SKILL / RESPONSIBILITIES

Teamwork & Communication Must feel comfortable working in a team environment consisting of Heartland Fabrication (HLF) employees and outside contractors Communicate with the staff to assure customer satisfaction Daily Cleaning & Maintenance Tasks Complete all areas included on the janitor checklist daily Safety & Compliance Must be able to work safely in different kinds of weather conditions and workspace environments Comply with corporate policy on safety, work ethics, and time constraints Planning & Productivity Plan projects to ensure the highest level of productivity on the job Miscellaneous Other tasks as requested by management team

WORK CONDITIONS

HLF is a heavy industrial worksite, which will likely require work in extreme weather conditions at times Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds, move in and around production areas Job will require daily walking, standing, and lifting Proper personal protective equipment is required at all times, such as, metatarsal boots, ear plugs/earmuffs, safety glasses, pants, and hard hats This is a safety-sensitive position. A safety sensitive job or position is where the employee holding the position has, at any time during his or her employment, the responsibility for his or her own safety or the safety of others

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

2 plus year janitorial experience preferred At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the marine, or steel fabrication industry High school diploma or GED required Ability to work well under minimal supervision
