Janitor / Housekeeper (Evening Shift) Job Description This evening shift janitor and housekeeper role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in a health center after regular business hours. You will clean rooms, offices, bathrooms, and common areas, remove trash, and replenish supplies to ensure the facility remains welcoming and hygienic for staff and visitors. Responsibilities Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors, following established cleaning procedures. Clean and disinfect patient rooms, offices, and other assigned rooms to maintain a hygienic environment. Clean common areas such as hallways, waiting rooms, and break areas to keep them neat and presentable. Perform general janitorial duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and wiping surfaces. Remove trash from rooms, offices, bathrooms, and common areas, and dispose of waste in designated containers. Replenish supplies such as paper products, soap, and other consumables in bathrooms and common areas. Sanitize high-touch surfaces regularly to help reduce the spread of germs. Operate basic cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, and other custodial tools safely and effectively. Work independently after hours in a health center setting, following cleaning schedules and task lists. Maintain a positive, professional attitude when interacting with office staff, doctors, nurses, and patients who may be present. Follow all safety, cleanliness, and facility guidelines while performing housekeeping and janitorial duties. Essential Skills Demonstrated experience or strong ability in cleaning, housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, or environmental services roles. Proficiency in dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and general floor care. Ability to perform trash removal and handle waste safely and efficiently. Experience with disinfecting and sanitizing surfaces in a professional setting. Capability to work independently and reliably during evening and late-night hours. Strong work ethic, including punctuality, consistency, and attention to detail. Positive attitude and willingness to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Reliability in following assigned tasks and schedules without direct supervision. Comfort working in a health center environment and around medical staff and patients. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, or environmental services in healthcare or similar facilities is beneficial. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with staff and visitors when needed. Comfort working after hours in a quiet facility setting. The work involves regular use of cleaning tools and equipment such as vacuums, mops, and other custodial supplies. The dress code includes jeans or leggings, a blue or black T-shirt, and closed-toe shoes; sweatpants are not permitted. The environment requires adherence to cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards typical of a healthcare setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of TATAMY Borough, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
