Janitor / Venue Cleaning Associate

Position Overview The Genesis is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Janitor / Venue Cleaning Associate to help maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and overall guest experience of our event venue and café. This role is essential in ensuring our venue remains clean, welcoming, and event-ready for weddings, corporate events, cultural celebrations, and community gatherings. The ideal candidate takes pride in cleanliness, works well independently, and is comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and late-night event cleanups. Key ResponsibilitiesVenue Cleaning & Maintenance Clean and sanitize event halls, café areas, restrooms, bridal suites, prep kitchen areas, offices, and common spaces Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and surfaces Empty trash and recycling bins before, during, and after events Restock restroom and cleaning supplies Maintain cleanliness of entrances, windows, and high-touch areas Assist with post-event cleanup and resetting spaces for the next event Ensure all tables, chairs, and venue furniture are properly cleaned and stored Event Support Help prepare the venue before events Monitor restroom cleanliness during events Assist staff with quick cleanup needs during functions Help with minor setup and breakdown tasks when needed Support venue staff in maintaining a luxury guest experience Café Support Maintain cleanliness of café seating areas and counters Clean kitchen prep surfaces according to sanitation standards Wash dishes or assist with light kitchen cleanup if needed Follow all health and safety guidelines Maintenance & Safety Report damages, maintenance concerns, or supply shortages Ensure cleaning equipment is used safely and stored properly Follow venue safety procedures and cleaning standards Help maintain outdoor areas and entrances when needed Qualifications Previous janitorial, housekeeping, restaurant, or venue cleaning experience preferred Ability to work independently and efficiently Strong attention to detail Reliable transportation Must be dependable, punctual, and trustworthy Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Preferred Qualities Positive attitude and team player Professional appearance and respectful communication Experience working in hospitality or event venues is a plus Ability to work in a fast-paced environment during events Schedule Part-time or Full-time available Flexible schedule based on event calendar Evening and weekend availability required

Pay:

$19.00 - $25.00 per hour
