Janitorial

JOB SUMMARY

: Work with other janitorial staff to maintain a clean and tidy facility both inside and out. May assist other maintenance personnel in performing work such as preventive maintenance, lubrications, diagnosis, repairs, and new equipment installation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performs various duties to assist with a clean facility including but not limited to restroom cleaning and stocking, dusting/mopping break and office areas, window washing, trash and scrap removal from offices, yard, and shop, weed spraying/burning and removal, various other seasonal cleaning activities.
• Ensure all work is performed and completed in conformance with any related codes, guidelines or standards established by a manufacturer or regulating body.
• Ensure cleaning and maintenance of all equipment and facilities are performed in a neat workmanship like manner.
• Ensure work environment is safe by following prescribed guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

• Prior janitorial experience is preferred.
• Possess a strong sense of urgency and ability to follow direction.
• Work independently and/or as a willing cooperative team member.
• Willingly take directions from Supervisory and Lead personnel.
• Follow quality procedures and demonstrate strong safety awareness.
• Mandatory overtime is required at times.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. Frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

In general, employees are exposed to a structural steel fabrication environment with excessive noise levels; occasional exposure to vibration and outside weather conditions; frequently works near moving mechanical parts; frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles; seldom works in high, precarious places and is seldom exposed to risk of electrical shock.
