Job Description

Position Summary:
Bill Wise's Excavating, Inc. is a growing construction company specializing in slip repair, general earthwork, HDPE and steel fabrication, and pipeline maintenance and integrity services throughout the Appalachian region. As part of a family of companies, we are focused on expanding our labor force to support the continued growth of our field operations and ongoing projects. The Operator II is responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy equipment in support of pipeline, environmental, and site development projects. This role requires experience working in challenging terrain, including steep slopes, and a strong commitment to safety and equipment care.
Required Experience and Skills:
2-4 years of equipment operating experience Proficient in operating excavators, bulldozers, side booms, and other industry-related equipment Ability to read and interpret basic site plans, grade stakes, and utility markings Understanding of safe excavation practices and jobsite safety requirements Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and protocols Basic troubleshooting skills and ability to identify mechanical issues Strong situational awareness and ability to work safely around crews and equipment Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors (hand signals, radios, etc.) Willingness to perform general labor duties as needed Ability to work in outdoor conditions, including varying weather and terrain Basic math skills for measurements and material estimation Valid driver's license Experience operating on steep slopes and uneven terrain Possess or be able to obtain required General Operator Qualifications (OQs) Must be willing to work occasional overtime and weekends based on project needs
Key Responsibilities:
Operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner Perform daily pre-operation inspections and complete equipment checklist logbooks Submit all daily reports and inspections in Viber Maintain cleanliness of equipment and perform routine field maintenance as needed Execute tasks such as repairing slips, installing pipelines, building well pads, land clearing, and supporting environmental compliance projects Follow all company safety policies and regulatory requirements Communicate and coordinate effectively with crew members and supervisors Must complete all assigned safety training in a timely manner Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)

$28.00 - $31.00 per hour
