Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial, industrial, and construction sites. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards, local codes, and the National Electrical Code (NEC). This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from renovations to new construction, utilizing your comprehensive electrical experience to deliver high-quality results efficiently and safely. Responsibilities Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including low voltage and high voltage wiring in commercial and industrial settings. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical installations. Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment to diagnose issues and verify system integrity. Work safely on construction sites by adhering to OSHA standards, NEC guidelines, and company safety protocols. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades such as frame carpentry and renovation teams to coordinate work schedules. Perform maintenance on existing electrical systems and upgrade outdated wiring or components as needed. Conduct low voltage wiring for control systems including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in industrial automation. Skills Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical codes and safety standards. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for complex electrical systems. Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers), power tools (e.g., drills), and testing devices like ohmmeters. Experience working on construction sites with a focus on renovation projects and new builds. Knowledge of low voltage systems such as security alarms or communication wiring; familiarity with high voltage systems is a plus. Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently using diagnostic tools including schematics and circuit testers. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for industrial automation applications. Strong understanding of NEC regulations governing residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work. Handyman skills including basic frame carpentry or general repair work are advantageous.
