Job Title:
Journeyman Electrician Job Description This role offers a hands-on opportunity for a 4th year electrical apprentice, or a strong 3rd year apprentice, to work on specialized commercial and industrial service projects within a 30-40 mile radius of Hudson, MA. You will support experienced journeyman electricians on data centers, industrial manufacturing facilities, fire alarm systems, and complex pipe and wiring installations. You can choose to report to the shop and travel in a service van with a journeyman or go directly to the project site, while developing your skills in a close-knit, supportive team environment. Responsibilities Assist journeyman electricians with commercial niche service projects, including data centers, industrial manufacturing facilities, and commercial buildings. Perform electrical wiring, conduit installation, and pipework under the guidance of a journeyman electrician. Support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire alarm electrical systems. Work on utility electrical tasks as assigned, ensuring safe and compliant practices. Read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings to assist with layout and installation. Use basic hand tools and electrical equipment to complete daily tasks efficiently and safely. Travel to project sites either by reporting to the shop and riding in a service van with a journeyman or by driving directly to the job location. Represent the company professionally at customer sites, maintaining a positive and respectful demeanor. Collaborate closely with team members, contributing to a positive and supportive crew culture. Remain open to occasional Sunday and overnight work when required, following discussed schedules and guidelines. Essential Skills Current 4th Year Massachusetts electrical apprentice status, or strong 3rd year apprentice experience. Hands-on experience working in industrial and commercial electrical environments. Practical experience with electrical wiring, conduit, and pipework installations. Ability to assist with fire alarm electrical work, including installation and basic troubleshooting. Familiarity with utility electrical work in commercial or industrial settings. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics. Reliable transportation to travel to the shop and/or directly to project locations. Ownership and proficient use of basic hand tools required for electrical work. Strong communication skills and an outgoing, professional demeanor when interacting with clients and colleagues. Willingness to work occasional Sundays and overnight shifts when needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Interest in transitioning into a journeyman electrician role with hours accreditation. Experience working on data centers, industrial manufacturing projects, and commercial buildings. Comfort working on fire alarm systems and other specialized electrical installations. Occasional Sunday and overnight shifts may be required, with corresponding double-time pay, reflecting a dynamic schedule typical of service-oriented electrical work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hudson, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
